Schools moving from ClassReach to Sycamore are usually growing past the 60-100 student microschool tier and need three things: a parent app that is a real family experience (not a notification wrapper), a modern per-student pricing model that scales without flat-tier jumps, and platform breadth that includes donations, tuition refund protection, and international reach. ClassReach has real strengths at the smallest classical school scale, and this page names them honestly.

3.0★ on Google Play (13 reviews); notification-only wrapper, iOS notifications 'in development' per ClassReach docs

Every module operates from a single record of the student, the family, and the financial account. Adding a new capability does not mean adding a new contract.
Each ClassReach module is a contract of its own. Schools that adopt the full suite carry multiple line items, multiple data flows, and a fragmented family experience.
Sycamore Parent App combines cafeteria balances, tuition payments, attendance alerts, grades, and announcements behind one login. Families on ClassReach regularly mention being unsure which ClassReach app to open and that the SIS and tuition halves feel like two different products.
We map every module you use today and build a switching plan you can share with your team.
What we doSycamore extracts and validates SIS, tuition, gradebook, and family data against your source of truth.
What we doStaff complete role-based Sycamore Academy courses. Speed to adopt is the goal, not slide decks.
What we doParents receive a one-page guide and one app to install. The school is live before the next billing cycle.
What we doYes. Student, family, grade, attendance, and tuition history transfer in full from ClassReach. Sycamore validates the imported records against your ClassReach exports before go-live so nothing is lost in the move.
Yes, but it's the harder path. Mid-year cutovers are more complex than summer or end-of-year switches, especially around in-progress tuition plans and grading periods. We will be straight with you about the lift; schools that need to do it still do, most often at the start of a term.
Sometimes. Whether saved cards and ACH details transfer depends on ClassReach's current payment processor. When secure token portability is supported, families see no change. When it is not, families re-add their payment method through a one-screen flow in the Sycamore Parent App. Either way, Sycamore drafts the parent communications.
Plans are reset and recreated in Sycamore. Sycamore's team rebuilds each active plan at the same amount, cadence, and remaining balance, then reconciles against ClassReach so nothing is double-charged or missed. Families see the same payment schedule they already expected.
$2,500 minimum onboarding investment. That covers your dedicated migration lead, data validation, training, and parent communications. After go-live, the school's recurring invoice is the published $4 per student per month plan with no separate module fees.
On your schedule. Some schools cancel ClassReach as soon as Sycamore's staging environment passes validation. Others run both in parallel for weeks or months, especially when the contract overlaps go-live or the business office wants extra time to reconcile. Sycamore will not push you to cancel until you are ready.
If you have these items ready, week 1 turns into half a week.
A printable PDF for heads of school, in nine sections. The decision framework, week-by-week timeline, cost worksheet, questions to ask ClassReach before you cancel, and a one-page board summary you can copy into your next packet.
Send Sycamore a sanitized ClassReach export. We'll run it through staging and return a validation report. No commitment.
